UYPAcademy

Proposed programme

Leadership development for the role people are actually in.

Designed with the commissioning organisation. Not a fixed public course, and not an accredited qualification.

The organisational problem

Organisations often promote capable specialists into leadership and then rely on them to work out communication, delegation and difficult conversations on their own. A generic course rarely matches the decisions those leaders are already making.

Who it is for

Emerging leaders, established managers, and people stepping into a more senior role. Commissioned by the organisation, not sold as an open public course.

What the programme can include

Included only where discovery shows they belong in this brief.

  • Leadership confidence and how authority is used in practice
  • Communication, delegation and feedback
  • Difficult conversations
  • Leading through a change that is already underway
  • People management for leaders who still carry delivery responsibility

Possible delivery formats

  • A short series of group workshops
  • Individual coaching alongside the group work
  • Online across the UK, or at the workplace when that is the right room

Intended learning outcomes

These are the outcomes a programme can be designed towards. They are not guaranteed.

  • Leaders who can describe the conversations they need to have, and have practised them
  • Clearer delegation and feedback inside the team they actually lead
  • A small number of actions agreed with the sponsor, rather than a certificate of attendance

Proposed delivery approach

The programme is designed after discovery. Themes are chosen from the list above because they are relevant to the brief, not because every engagement includes all of them.

How outcomes can be evaluated

Before the work starts, the sponsor and UYP Academy agree what will be reviewed: participant feedback, observed actions, and any short progress note. Results are reported against that agreement. They are not guaranteed.

Questions

Is this an accredited leadership qualification?
No. It is tailored development for a commissioning organisation. It is not an ILM programme or any other regulated qualification.
Can individual leaders be coached as part of this?
Yes, where the organisation wants that. Coaching conversations are confidential. Anything reported back is agreed in writing before the work starts.
